Wow! Praise the Lord for the way He provides! I have an amazing testimony as to how He has provided for me…
As some of you know, I have my own little “home business” and back before Christmas, I’d been praying and hoping to get an order or two, but Christmas came and went with no orders. I was somewhat disappointed. Well…
There’s a family we know that has some financial needs and about a month and a half ago, I felt the Lord telling me to anonymously send them a certain amount of money (which was kind of an odd amount, and almost all I had!), and at first I was like “okay, Lord, next time I go to the bank, I’ll get the money and send it to them!” Well…about 2 weeks went by and I hadn’t been able to get into town and I got to thinking “I don’t necessarily have to send that amount, I could send a little bit less and make it an even amount” and almost immediately the story in Luke 21:2 of the widow who put in all that she had, came to mind. I felt the Lord was telling me “Sara, give what I told you to give…even if it is an odd amount.”
To make a long story short…I ended up sending the amount the Lord told me to give, and about 1 week later, the phone rang and what do you think it was?! A friend of ours was calling me to place an order!!!
All I can say is WOW!!!!
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not on thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
How many times have you heard this statement and verse? I’d heard it for years before I finally came to realize what it truly meant to “trust in the Lord”. I don’t remember when it was exactly, but I do know it was through a series of “trials”. There was one “trial” in particular that I will tell you about. My dad found a piece of equipment on e-Bay that he needed for our home business, but we didn’t have the funds to purchase it, so we prayed for it. The evening before the auction ended, I was praying, and I felt an urge to pray for the money to come somehow, but my thoughts were “tomorrows a holiday, we won’t get mail and the check that dad was waiting for.” But, I prayed anyway, and that evening someone called us and told us someone had anonymously provided the money for us! I felt SO humbled.
I can’t tell you how to trust, exactly, but I can tell you that once you get to that point it as an AMAZING experience!! I had/have so much more peace in my life!
There are still times I stumble and try to take matters into my own hands, but, sooner or later, I end up giving it all back to Him!
So I encourage you…learn to Trust…let the Lord bless you!
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Do you ever struggle with thoughts that you know don’t match up to this verse? I’ve found a really good way to keep your mind on the things of the Lord. Memorize Scripture! Work on it all day long…for example, if you’re cleaning the house, keep your Bible where you can get to it easily and work on memorizing a passage of Scripture. If you’re focused on repeating scripture over and over in your head (or even out loud), not only will you be getting rid of thoughts that shouldn’t be there; you’ll be filling your mind with TRUTH!
You think about that…
